I'm in a shitty mood.
Things I've tried to write tonight and then deleted:
- sexuality as a spectrum
- what if I was invisible? (But like, really.)
- Captain Fantastic: a dumpster fire
- memories from living on a nursery and whacking pigs with sticks
- trying to turn my movie room into 221B Baker Street
These ideas were awful and so I've spared you from them. I'm just in a foul mood for seemingly no reason. I need to get my head back on straight. Okay, focusing on good things that are going on:
- Transducers practice went really well
- Brianne and Brian will be visiting in a couple weeks
- Dusty and Bree and the girls will be visiting over the summer.
- My mom is going to help me with tuition so I can graduate by December
THESE ARE AMAZING THINGS. FOCUS ON THESE THINGS.
Okay, back on track. So tomorrow is the first day of the Bike Month Challenge. The challenge is to ride your bike to work every day for the whole month. The ride I don't mind, its the rain and the cars that make it a challenge (cyclists in my neighborhood keep getting killed). So this is me promising to ride with extra caution, always wear a helmet, and be diligent about wearing things that are bright and obnoxious. Also, Alex is going to let me borrow his bike lights since they are much brighter than mine so hopefully this combination of things will let me get through Bike Challenge month as unscathed as possible. Possibly the worrying is what is putting me in a bad mood. Maybe I just need to do some yoga. Or have a beer. Just something to stop focusing on it. Worrying never did anyone any good. Did it? Well it's not going to stop me from doing it so it doesn't matter. Onward!!!
St. Johns to OHSU if you want to Google it.
Focusing on the positive is a great start. The anticipation of good company is always something to look forward to. I know you'll make it through bike challenge because once you set your sights on a goal you're unstoppable. I mean that in the best way. Also, I was intrigued by all of your proposed blog topics. Especially being invisible. I hope that they develop into posts someday. As always we're here to cheer you on! Go Juli GO!!
