Bike Challenge Day 1
A complete failure.
Yeah, I didn't do it today. This is what happens when you attempt to rely on your decision-making abilities and propensity for follow-through at 6:30 in the morning. If you are me, they are basically non-existent. My laziness in the morning cannot be over-emphasized. Morning Juli is a complete sack of potatoes who follows the path of absolute least resistance and this must be used in order to get her to do what you want. (Why am I talking about myself in the third person? This is weird).
Okay, this is how it needs to go down if I'm going to be successful:
Step 1: Pack everything up the night before. If my stuff is all organized in such a way that it would take effort to take it out of my cycling backpack and return it to my regular briefcase, then I will bike simply so that I don't have to switch bags. I realize that the effort it takes to change backpacks does not compare to the effort of biking 10 ten miles but somehow my morning brain doesn't get that and so I need to harness that to my advantage.
Step 2: Have cycling clothes laid out. If the only thing I need to do is drag myself from the bed to my bureau where the clothes are already portioned out then I am more than happy to don said items. Anything that doesn't require brain work is what I will be drawn to. Bonus points since I get to put on something warm and stretchy and colorful (three of my favorite things!).
Step 3: Just fucking do it. Just. Fucking. Do it. Yeah, but what about-? Noooo. No. You get on that thing and you pedal- your readers are depending on you! Yes, but for what? I don't know! I don't know what they want! I don't know what they need! But apparently this morning they are getting and internal debate I'm having with myself. So there you are. Life, uh, finds a way.

I won't survive if you don't pedal that bike missy! Mount your phone on the front of your bike so we get to see the route from your bike's point of view. Then use thst video for a blog post. Perks are bike challenge will be met and it covers a blog post. Win-Win. You can do it!!
ReplyDeleteHaha you are amazing. Maybe I will stop and take photos at some cool vantage points during my ride :)
