an anniversary of sorts

I think I did this wrong last time.

Remember the Slice of Life Challenge? It was the reason I started this blog a year ago. It's like... some people who I don't know (who are probably teachers maybe?) decided it would be a fun idea to challenge some other group of people (probably students) to write a little snippet for each day in the month of March, I think. I'm not really keen to research it any further than that. Anyway, last year I sort of went bananas; I was doing movie scripts, and photojournalism, and poems, and mind dumps, and basically just slopping together anything that happened to fall out of my brain in the moment and throwing it up on the web in a "whatever will  be" kind of attitude. This year, I'm aiming to have a bit more focus than that. Introducing.... my Mission Statement™:

To every evening, post a vignette about something that happened during my day in a way that will make the reader feel like they were right there with me. 

Seems simple enough, right? Right. Okay, let's do it then! Startinnnnnng...... tomorrow. I'm going to go ahead and count this post as my slice for today even though it doesn't actually follow the guidelines that I just outlined about two sentences ago. But, whatever. Frig off, Lahey! I make my own rules here!

If anyone feels like joining, please do. Feel free to do what I'm doing or whatever version feels comfortable for you. We are supposed to cross comment on each other's blogs each day and link to our posts to form like this whole interconnected web thing. Or don't. Do whatever makes you happy. Hoping to tangle with some of you, though :).
